I experimented a bit with edible paper. I had two cakes to try it out on. The tricky part was getting the ouwel to stick to the cake without the edges curling. I first tried it with a little water. I used a bit too much water though and the whole photo turned all lumpy and patchy. I had to remove it and order a new photo, this time I tried peach jam and spread it on very thinly. luckily this worked! For my other cake, I used an icing sheet. This was super easy!! You don't even have to glue it on! The photo was also very sharp and bright so I know what I'm going to use the next time someone wants a photo on a cake: ICING SHEET!

And this is how they tured out. Mega Mindy was the one I batled with so much. The three girls, K3 was with the icing sheet.

Pirate cake

It has been a very long time since I have written on this blog. But since I have been so busy lately baking, I thought it would be nice to give an update. I just finished a pirate cake for my son who turned 4. He wanted a pirate birthday so I designed and baked a pirate cake filled with raspberries, cherry jam and cream.

O yeah, I almost forgot! I make a lot more things for his birthday. Little boats for his friends at the creche, because I would leave them and go to the primary school and pirate cookies for school.
